May we never be apart

I'm going to say that this is a preview pic here, mostly because you can't see many of the details on the costume, but I think it's pretty cute. I love how our faces look because I think you can tell how much we care about each other <3 Couple cosplays are definitely my favorite!

I think this costume may have been the most time consuming satin stitch applique project that I have done to date. Although the actual satin stitching only took about a week, the patterning and cutting out took quite some time as well, and required a lot of annoying math and trial and error to get things patterned the way that I wanted them. I had to do a bunch of mock ups to pattern out the over skirt, the sleeves, and the front part of the bodice. Because there is only one picture of this art from and art book (THANKS CLAMP) I got to do some fun interpretations of this :] I went with 6 panels for the overskirt and based the front part of the dress off of a Chinese style dress that a friend of mine owns. You can't really see too many details in this picture, but there are more pictures to follow! I'm glad we decided to make these. They were a lot of fun to make and wear and I'm so proud of my Syaoran for all the hard work he did with his first time doing satin stitch applique.
